This policy explains what Decision Atlas AI collects, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We've written it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate.

Decision Atlas AI exists to help you decide whether something is worth your time. That only works if you trust us with the things you're deciding about.
We collect the minimum we need to run the service, we explain why we collect it, and we do not sell your personal information.

To produce a report, the content you submit — extracted file text, page text, or transcripts — is sent over an encrypted connection to trusted AI providers that generate the analysis.
This processing exists solely to create your report. We do not send your content to AI providers for advertising or profiling.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Information is shared only with the trusted service providers required to operate Decision Atlas AI:

Your investigations are private to your use of Decision Atlas AI.
When you use Decision Atlas AI, you may provide information such as prompts and questions, public website URLs, public YouTube URLs, pasted text, uploaded PDFs or other documents, transcripts, notes, follow-up questions, feedback, comparison requests, and other materials you choose to investigate.
Decision Atlas AI uses this information only as necessary to provide the investigation or other functionality you requested, operate and protect the service, and meet applicable legal obligations.
We do not use or repurpose your prompts, questions, submitted URLs, uploaded files, pasted text, transcripts, notes, follow-up questions, investigation results, or other user-provided investigation content to create public content. This applies even when the material you choose to investigate is already publicly available on the internet.
For example, if you submit a public webpage or YouTube URL and ask Decision Atlas AI specific questions about it, your decision to investigate that source, the questions you ask, and the resulting investigation are not used as a source for Decision Atlas AI's public content.
We do not use your user-provided investigation content to create:
Decision Atlas AI may separately research publicly available information for its own public articles, guides, and other editorial content. That public-content process is separate from individual user investigations.
A publicly available webpage or YouTube video may independently be selected through Decision Atlas AI's public-source or editorial workflow. It will not be selected for publication because an individual user submitted, investigated, questioned, saved, or interacted with that source. Individual user activity does not feed the public article-generation pipeline.
Files and materials supplied by users are treated as user-provided content. Uploaded PDFs, documents, pasted text, transcripts, and similar materials are not used as source material for Decision Atlas AI's public article or content library. This remains true even if an uploaded document is also publicly accessible somewhere else on the internet.
Decision Atlas AI's public-content workflow is intentionally separate from the private investigation workflow. Public article source material may be selected from eligible public sources, such as ordinary publicly accessible webpages and public YouTube content, through a separate editorial or public-source process.
User identity, user intent, prompts, follow-up questions, notes, feedback, private documents, investigation history, and investigation responses are not used to determine or create public article content.
What you investigate is for your investigation. Decision Atlas AI does not turn your individual research activity into public content.
During beta, uploaded content and reports are not intended for long-term storage. Reports are kept in your browser rather than a permanent account history.
Some data is retained only where it's necessary to deliver the service: very long sources are analyzed in stages and stored temporarily on our servers so the analysis can resume and finish, and extracted source text (for example, video transcripts) is cached so repeat analyses are faster and cheaper.
A small number of administrators can access system records to diagnose and re-run failed analyses.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect your information.
No system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you share information with us at your own discretion.
You control your profile and personalization preferences from your settings page.
You can contact us to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to request deletion of your account and associated data where applicable. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.
Decision Atlas AI is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Decision Atlas AI is actively evolving. If our data handling changes, we'll update this page, revise the effective date, and explain meaningful changes clearly.
